Unpopular opinion: AI agents move people up the value chain, not out of the job market.
There is a positive scenario we need to consider carefully. AI agents can actually make the world better.
All I see when we implement AI agents at work in the real world is that they are automating the boring parts of knowledge work first (despite misinformation in the media). Humans approve tasks and supervise the agents.
That is a net positive.
Well, robotics will take a decade to automate manual labor. But software agents are here today and making work more meaningful.
Isn't that cool?
